arola Ortiz is a Catalan singer, clarinetist and composer active in the jazz, song and world music scene. Daughter of artists, at 18 she began to make her way in jazz, playing and singing with her father and began to study at Taller de Músics, in Barcelona. In 2010 she obtained bachelor degree in Jazz Voice Performer at ESMUC. Between 2013 and 2014 she lived in New York where she joined the Lower East Side music community of jazz improvised music. In 2016 she started her career as a solo songwriter artist, with the release of her first album, titled SIRIN, followed by Spirala in 2018.

As side musician, she has collaborated with musicians such as Joan Albert Amargós, Lluís Vidal, Rocío Márquez and Victor Nubla. In February 2020, she participated in an extensive tour throughout India, presenting “The Crossover Project”, a joint project with the Indian singer and percussionist Charu Hariharan. Carola has also been teaching students to get their performance jazz degree at the school ESEM Taller de Músics since 2016.
