Hi there,

I was wondering how baby friendly this festival might be ? My kid will turn one in June and that would be a great way to celebrate.
Im not talking baby facilities but more atmosphere wise. Is it rather chilled or does it get quite mental? What type of crowd is more likely to attend?
I have also emailed the festival.
Please no answer like "you shouldnt take a baby to a festival", that's already been decided.

Thanks guys!

Hi Polly,

The previous editions I have been to have all been extremely baby friendly. I've seen plenty of families around and I think the organisers have quite a few facilities for those with small children, including a special kids stage and earphones for kids (not sure if they're for free or you pay).

In fact one of my favourite memories from last year's festival was the stage at sufjan stevens being invaded by kids.

One thing to bear in mind though is that this festival usually starts quite late (16h00/17h00) and bands go on until early in the morning. The headliners and big bands often don't come on stage until 1h00.

But apart from that there's usually plenty of places to sit down and chill out and see bands without getting in the middle of any mayhem.

That sounds great!
I didnt know it could start that late, thanks for mentioning that. Probably worth looking into getting a baby sitter for these night time gigs then!

Events at the main venue (Forum) are from 16 to 6 (thurs, fri & sat) but you may want to consider the gigs at the park(12h to 17h, fri, sat and sun), free for all and with a more baby friendly atmosphere (although the main venue is very kid friendly, as sorryforlaughing says).

Some of last year's artists at the park were (most of them also played at the Forum): Dicktails, Fresh and Onlys, Sonny and the Sunsets, Las Robertas, Comet Gain, Dan Melchior, Tennis, Autolux, Papas Fritas, Oh! Cake and The Cookie.

BTW, is there any video/photo of this kids avalanche at last years Sufjan?

Thanks so much for the answers, it will be our first big trip and any info helps!

So it seems like the main "issue" will be time wise but that's something we can work around, we already do that all year round anyway!

As to what bands played at the park, I am ashamed to say I have never heard of them. To be honest I havent got a clue what the music scene is like at the moment as I spend my days at babygroups. We do go to a music class but it's not very modern, most recent "style" we listen to was Queen!!

I'm sure Dicktail would be fine, we have a very open minded baby ;-)

I'll look them up, cheers!

You'd be better off if you looked up Ducktails since Pulpo there had a little spelling mistake... I don't even dare to imagine what you will find if you google Dicktails.

Anyways, have a nice festival in Spring. I know it will be amazing for you guys!!
