the charlatans will perform "tellin' stories" at two uk-dates in june.
maybe they'll visit barcelona a few days earlier!?

I have no desire to see the Charlatans play their chicken in a basket set after they did 'Some Friendly' at PS last time. The whole idea of those 'dont look back' style gigs is for classic record to be played by classic bands i.e.

Iggy and the Stooges play "Raw Power" YES
Dinosaur Jr play "Bug" YES
Television play "Marquee Moon" YES
Super Furry Animals play "Rings Around the World" YES

the charlatans play anything NO NO NO PLEASE GOD NO!!

The Charlatans are so poor man - second division band riding on the coat tails of all that Britpop nonsense. And he matches Ian Brown in terms of not being able to sing live!!

What about Luke Haines? He would be excellent in the theatre.

I'd be happy with any of those. Surprised Iggy and the Stooges didn't play last year as they were touring Raw Power around the right time I think? Luke Haines has a good album out currently. Marquee Moon would be great

Haines is great but maybe a bit too parochial for PS in his solo guise. An Auteurs set would work though!

Television less likely as I tihnk Richard Lloyd has just hooked up in some supergroup or other...

Gabi in Twitter:

"En media hora cinco nombres más para el #PS12 en Barcelona."

That means: In half an hour 5 names more for PS12 Barcelona. And that was tweeted 15 minutes ago. So in 15 minutes more confirmations!!!! :)

I see Baxter Dury has just been added, pretty happy about that. Its starting to shape up nicely I'd say - Dirty Three being the most exciting for me so far. Veronica Falls, White Denim, Jeff Mangum, all good.

And Television?? Hell yes to that idea. Obviously anything Iggy would be great. Might as well wish for Tom Waits while I'm at it, or Kevin Ayers!

Magnetic Fields are on tour around then too - that would be astounding.

And a huge 'meh' to Charlatans.
