What's the problem with FF ?
Last year, Interpol played. And it was good. And they could headline FIB also.
Arcade Fire, Portishead, Beirut, Primal Scream headlined FIB last year. Are they bad bands?

I agree
still-FF were great as small indie band in 2004
I don't really want to see them as headliners in 2012

Citar:
They played when they were small ! Not when they had already headlined FIB !

That's what I said. They've since headlined FIB wich makes them a Big Indie NME band that are not really welcome to PS (for more information look at the PS Facebook page)

They played again in 2008, and we had the same outrage then.

Myself, I think they're quite enjoyable and way more interesting than Arctic Monkeys for example.

And I would like to add, NME is full of crap and we want them far away from PS's lineup! but sometimes a band ends up playing at the festival. Should we remember the legendary Thursday Lineup in 2006? Babyshambles, Motorhead and Yo La Tengo.

The Vacines were actually announced last year do you think they were taken of the line up for now reason i don't think so. NME is full of crap apart from the New Music section wich can be good from time to time....I know the guy who writes those articles.

there has been no intelligent music journalism in the NME since about 1996.

FACT.

I have no idea how good or bad live Arctic Monkeys are, but at least they are releasing some new music (some of which produced by Mr. Josh Homme, haha).
And Franz Ferdinand? they have dated terribly, in my not-so-humble opinion.

It was a bizarre confirmation to make in isolation alright...considering they aren't exactly headline material. I certainly could have waited until February for it!

The organisers must be keeping their strongest hand for the main announcements in February! Keep the faith folks!

Franz Ferdinand? First album is great, but not much since. I wouldn't get up in arms about them.

The Vaccines canceled their gig at PS'11 to open for the Artic Monkeys in the U.S.

I have no desire to see the Charlatans play their chicken in a basket set after they did 'Some Friendly' at PS last time. The whole idea of those 'dont look back' style gigs is for classic record to be played by classic bands i.e.

Iggy and the Stooges play "Raw Power" YES
Dinosaur Jr play "Bug" YES
Television play "Marquee Moon" YES
Super Furry Animals play "Rings Around the World" YES

the charlatans play anything NO NO NO PLEASE GOD NO!!

The Charlatans are so poor man - second division band riding on the coat tails of all that Britpop nonsense. And he matches Ian Brown in terms of not being able to sing live!!

What about Luke Haines? He would be excellent in the theatre.
