I know its a bit late in the day but what about Iggy and The Stooges to replace Bjork? They will be in Spain the week before.

Gotta pull something out the bag, even at this late stage. There is a Bjork sized hole in the Saturday and with that a huge amnount of cash must have been freed up.

Walkmen are great but not big enough to replace that Icelandic nutjob.

Booking bands for a festival isn't like going to the supermarket and bying some food. You can't just book a band like that even if they are available. You should send an email to their tour manager and see what he says.

Aye, but i'm pretty sure they had an idea that Bjork might be canceling, the feelers should have been out before now.

If a band is free and the moneys on the table whats to stop them? A major slot on the closing night is available for probably the best European independent music festival. Im sure oplenty of bigger acts would jump at the chance.

A band can be on the other side of the world within a day, crew equipment and all. Its really all dependant on availability.

It's really not that simple. It's last minute so bands must be going for much more than they should normaly. I think it's stupid to pay out much more for a band. It's better if thye keep the money for next year has most people go every year. The kind of bands plike The Stooges need a lot of equipment and organisation. Everything is planned in advance, they book tours years in advance. They are playing the 30th in Greece so it's a no for sure.
