The sale of full festival VIP tickets through the San Miguel Primavera Sound portal has had to be stopped for technical reasons.

At 1:00pm today, the sale of full festival VIP tickets (normal and combined) will resume through Paypal at www.primaverasound.com. It will be possible to buy a maximum of two full festival tickets per person and it will not be necessary to be registered on the Portal in order to do so.

Those people who have paid money into their Portal account with the intention of buying these tickets, will have an automatic reservation that they can confirm by writing an email to portal@primaverasound.com to validate the purchase.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.

What does a VIP ticket give you that a normal ticket doesn't ?

hmmmm

Well there's a VIP area which is not too crowded and has fancier toilets. And beer used to be free there but next year they're going to charge a low price for them. You can also see the main stage from there.

You can get to the festival area via the VIP entrance. Aaaand hmmmm I think you can skip the lines at the Auditori (with exceptions for big acts like Sufjan for example).

Ah yes, people at the VIP area are mostly cooler and better looking than the unwashed masses.

Ok. I don't remember it being very expensive. Is it worth it ? But with the free beer it must have been mad !
Thankyou Alrom !

I cant believe they are gonna charge people for beer in the VIP area next year. Thats pretty poor given that the only thing you are paying extra for PS12 is some reasonably quiet seating area with a nice view of the main stage.

And its the beer of the festival sponsor.

And the beer isnt anywhere near as good as Estrella.

Not that great a deal it would seem?

Ah well, never mind.

We can still sit in the big deckchairs cant we?

:)

I guess I must be the only person on the English Forum who thinks that the VIP sounds less like a reward for supporting the festival before knowing which bands are playing next year.

Alrom, do we know anymore about plans for VIP tickets for PS12? It doesnt seem to be much if they are even taking the free beer away!!! Certainly not 50 euro worth over the early bird tickets I would have thought...in a recession that seems a rough call.

:)

Hi Alrom!

Yeah I know I bought one just like last year!!! We should definitely meet up for PS12 man!

I was trying to say that it looks like the VIP for PS12 is gonna be worse than PS11 and thats a shame given how tight money is and that paying an extra 50 euro for a nicer piece of ground to sit on seems harsh.

Tell them to change their mind about charging for beer - its not fair! Mean old San Miguel.

ah hehehe I was quite surprised to read that you didn't get to buy one... I hope you guys subscribe to Primavera's newsletter, that's pretty much a requisite if you want to be up to date on festival news!

I think the Primavera guys have taken a decision with beer at the VIP zone and they won't change it, at least until 2013. As I said the problem was that people just grabbed beers because they were free, even if they weren't thinking of drinking them. So the idea will be to put a small price to it.

No I got a VIP ticket for PS12 and so did my friends - its a real shame if people spoilt the free beer by ordering and not drinking them, stupid people - that sucks and is a complete waste of beer (even if its San Miguel).

Sadly, some of the people in the VIP area last year were a bit like that from what I could see although it would be interesting to know how many of them were people who had paid for their passes into the area! A lot looked like hangers on and media types...

A free bar should be respected at all times. I promise I never ordered a free beer last year that I didnt finish! And I also used the other bars to buy beers from too.

Ah well, maybe we can get an Adidas festival shirt or something next year????

I guess it all depends on just how cheap these beers are. When a beer is €4 or €5 a pop, it doesn't take that many free/cheap beers over three nights to justify the extra €50 on the ticket price, before you consider a bit more comfort and general smugness a VIP pass brings. I can understand the reasoning behind a nominal charge. There was a lot of wasted beer last year just left on tables.

Anyone have any idea what the special offer might be on hotels near the Forum they posted a link to earlier today might be exactly?

There is a link 'ACCOMMODATION' on the home page of Primavera Sound 2012.

Right now it seems to be out of order but at least yesterday it worked OK. I cheked few hotels but didn't book any yet.
