just about to head out the door when my girlfriend sends me the following email she got from a friend on facebook. sounds like right load of ropey old lies to me, but thought i'd best check ;o)

My friend Harley has just sent us this info about the festival we didn't know... not sure if you 'have to' do this portal drinks card but thought I'd pass on the info: Aymi :) 'Not sure if you know already but we've just found out that you need to register for a Primavera Portal account (basically it's a kind of pre-paid/top-up drinks card for buying drinks (even soft drinks) in the festival). If you haven't already signed up, go to this link: http://www.facebook.com/l/050b78Ss8r0Fc ... Flang%3Den The site is not very user friendly. Loads of people have had problems trying to register. Click on 'SIGN-IN' at the top of the portal page and it'll take you to the registration screen but when you enter your info (name, passport number etc), only enter info that's marked with a * - as otherwise you'll keep getting error messages in Spanish! Also, just to reassure you, when adding money to your 'Portal' account - if you type, for instance, 10 euros - it will appear as 1000 euros - but don't worry, when you get on the next page it will be 10 euros! Hope that all makes sense!'

Totoro, you sound as if you're saying "it's true, it's a scam".

hortonjupiter, the Portal is no big deal. You add 10€ which you're going to spend for sure during the festival. No need to go collect tickets, then drinks, etc. It's all much easier now. Plus any money left in your account you will be able to use to buy merch or use in future editions of the festival.

If you don't like the portal and all that stuff, you can still add money to your card at the festival grounds using cash.

hortonjupiter,

I'd detected the same "issue" when I charge my card. The PS portal web-form sends the amount to the Bank Point of Service application without commas (in example: 40,00€ --> 4000) but the POS app receives the amount well-formated (40,00€). Maybe it isn't the orthodox way to do that but it works fine :)
