Primavera Sound - Foros

Dear Primavera Team and Festival Goers,

Am I the only person who thinks that the Rockdelux stage is not used as much as it should be during the festival and that it has been used less in recent years? This is a big shame as it makes no sense to me to see the area taped off for the first couple of hours everyday when the stage area is bathed in sunshine and us festival goers can chill out in the sun on the grassy knoll next to the stage. I am sure that the stage used to be used more earlier in the day, I definitely remember seeing MGMT playing on that stage around 5pm one year. The last couple of years you have had bands playing in the concrete area when you could have them playing out in the sun.

For me its the best stage at the festival, a natural theatre setting with good sound and I think it should be opened earlier and some of the bands who would play the awful CD DROME stage could play in the proper open air instead.

I am sure more use could be made of the stage with a little imagination. Anyone else agree?

Like you, I had the feeling that this stage was a bit less used last year (it may be wrong and just because the bands playing there weren't my 1st choices...). It's as well my favourite outdoor stage (I remember enjoying wonderful gigs by Arcade Fire and Richard Hawley on this one!).

Wasn't The Auditori named Rockdelux stage at the latest edition (PS10)? Or do I remember completely wrong?

Yes you're right. I guess candylion is talking about the Ray-Ban one, but it doesn't fit with the grassy knoll description... which one was it? here's a map:

Yes and the 'natural theatre' that Candylion mentions would also hint to the direction of Ray-Ban stage. I personally think the Ray-Ban stage is the best with fantastic view and nice sound.

Yeah it was the Ray Ban stage last year as the map says but before that was always Rockdelux I think - the big stage in the semi circle! The grassy knoll is to the side of the stage on the left as you come down the steps, behind the bar and the hot dog stand. I always can be found there at some point before sundown.

My point stands though - that stage is not used anywhere near enough. Another point to avoid fewer clashes could be to start a little earlier in the afternoon on Friday and Saturday?

Hey! yeah that stage is one of the main assets of the festival, in my opinion. I don't know if it was underused last year, but anyway starting a bit earlier seems to me a good idea too...
